Junior HR Generalist

First Lady, the industry leader in Chicago tours and private events, is seeking an enthusiastic Junior HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This position provides practical, hands-on experience in Human Resources. The successful candidate will work closely with HR professionals and support the department in various administrative tasks related to recruiting, onboarding, and employee engagement for a staff of over 200 full-time and seasonal employees.

What We're Looking For:

Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who takes direction well, meets deadlines, and is eager to apply what they're learning in the classroom to real-world situations. We're looking for someone detail-oriented, dependable, and professional, with a genuine interest in HR.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with job postings and applicant tracking

• Post jobs in our ATS (Recruitee) and screen applicants

• Schedule and conduct phone interviews

• Support onboarding tasks such as sending background check forms and scheduling pre-employment drug tests

• Assist with new-hire orientations

• Assist in managing the HR inbox

• Audit and maintain accurate records in our ATS pipeline

• Draft internal communications and contribute to the employee newsletter

• Collaborate with the HR team on special projects as assigned

• Provide administrative support to the HR team as needed

Qualifications:

• HR experience or a degree in HR a plus

• Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.)

• Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) like Recruitee is a plus

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism

• All applicants must pass a drug and background check
